TOYOTA GAZOO Racing accelerates design utilizing HPC and simulations on AWS | Amazon Web Services
Toyota GAZOO Racing Europe (TGR-E) is accelerating the design of motorsport vehicles cars with high performance computing (HPC) on AWS. TGR-E, a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, faced several challenges with its on-premises HPC cluster, including underusage and insufficient capacity during peak periods to run their virtual race simulations. By adopting HPC solutions such as Amazon EC2 Hpc6a HPC Optimized Instances and AWS ParallelCluster, TGR-E now efficiently runs complex simulations on the cloud. This migration not only enhanced its simulation capabilities but also significantly reduced operational costs and downtime, helping TGR-E innovate faster and more effectively. AWS also enables TGR-E simulators across three continents to connect developments in one environment via Amazon SageMaker so engineering groups can share learnings much faster. About Toyota GAZOO Racing Europe: TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe is an engineering center that focuses on automotive and motorsport research and development. Based in Cologne, Germany, it is the home of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship team
